We weren't able to get this blog up and running in time for our trip to China to pick up Sammie; however, now that life is settling into a routine with a 16-year old and a one-year old, my new year's resolution is to start a blog for our family and friends to follow along as DJ and Sammie grow up...and oh how they are growing up so quickly!

Trip Summary - Changsha / Dolton Hotel

Our hotel in Changsha (Hunan Province), Dolton Hotel, is a five-star hotel and was really lovely. Our room (see picture at left) looked out over the city and gave us a good idea of just how big this ‘small town’ was! The hotel was in a lovely part of Changsha -- on a large main street much like University Avenue in Toronto. The hotel staff treated the adoptive families like royalty. The service at this hotel was really unbelievable and nothing like I’ve experienced before. There was nothing they wouldn’t do for us and bent over backward to accommodate any big or small request. They cooed over the children, ran around like crazy for us, and (like many of the Chinese) showed much appreciation for us adopting these precious Chinese orphans.
